Chevrier was claimed by the Dallas Cowboys on September 4, 2001. They were trying to replace Dale Hellestrae, long snapper, in a salary cap move. After struggling with his long snapper duties and an errant snappe that resulted in Tim Seder being hurt, he was fired on November 13. Mike Solwold replaced him.
On September 26, 2002, he signed with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League, playing in 5 games and making 4 tackles. The next year, he appeared in all 18 regular season games, posting 15 tackles, 6 special team tackles, 3 knockdowns and one quarterback sack.
In 2002, he was allocated to the Barcelona Dragons of NFL Europe, where he appeared in 10 games, while recording 7 tackles, one forced fumble and 3 special teams tackles. On August 26, he was released by the Bengals after not being able to pass St. Louis on the depth chart.
He was signed to the practice team by the Cincinnati Bengals on December 4, 2001. After Brad St. Louis had re-aggravated his left leg groin injury, he was promoted on December 7 to the active roster.

Chevrier started playing Canadian football when he was 18 years old. During the 1995 season, he played at CEGEP level for Vanier College. He attended McGill University and was a teammate with future NFL player JeanPhilippe Darche. He was a long-snapper and defensive lineman who earned All-Canadian honours. He was versatile and could play defensive tackle, defensive lineman, and offensive tackle (in short-yardage circumstances).
He was working as a bouncer in 2000 when he was accidentally stabbed in his side. The knife barely missed his lung. He co-hosted a radio program on Fan 960 called “Chevy and Nasty Show” with Sheldon Napastuk, a former Stampeders teammate.
Chevrier was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the seventh round (241st overall) of the 2001 NFL Draft to play as a long snapper. He was also selected by the Edmonton Eskimos fifth overall in the 2001 CFL Draft. On September 2, he was waived after being passed on the depth chart by Joe Zelenka.
