In 2017 Boschung signed for Campos Racing to compete in the inaugural FIA Formula 2 Championship. He had various teammates, those being Stefano Coletti, Roberto Merhi, Robert Vișoiu and Álex Palou. Boschung himself didn’t complete the season and was replaced by Lando Norris for the 2017 Yas Marina FIA Formula 2 round. Boschung scored 11 points and finished 19th in the championship. In 2018 he competed for MP Motorsport alongside Merhi. He scored 17 points and finished the season in 18th, however, he again failed to sit out the season, being replaced by Niko Kari for the rounds at Sochi and Abu Dhabi. Boschung raced for Trident in the 2019 FIA Formula 2 Championship, where he scored 3 points and finished 19th in the championship. His season was plagued by funding problems, due to which he lost his seat for the rounds in Austria, Britain, Italy and Abu Dhabi. Trident subsequently finished last in the team championship.
