Douris is originally from Stouffville in Ontario. She studied radio and television broadcasting at Ryerson University and interned with CFNY-FM (102.1 The Edge), Toronto, beginning in 2009. Douris launched the “Indie Online” section of the station’s website, which allowed exposure to indie bands not yet in rotation.
