Rahim Ademi is one of the most popular and richest Military Officer who was born on January 30, 1954 in Vučitrn, Croatia. Rahim Ademi, a retired general in the Croatian Army of Kosovar Albanian heritage was born 30 January 1954.

Ademi was indicted by the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in 2001 for crimes against humanity he allegedly committed against the Croatian Serbs living in the Medak Pocket. Ademi was initially in custody but was allowed to prepare his defense for free. The ICTY referred Ademi- Norac’s case to Croatia in November 2005 as part of its completion strategy. The trial began in front of a special Zagreb County Court bench with Judge Marin Mrcela as the presider.

In March 2010, the Supreme Court of Croatia upheld Ademi’s acquittal.

During campaign for the 2014–15 presidential election, Ademi worked as a co- coordinator for Ivo Josipović.

In 1991, he was officially admitted to the Ministry of the Interior. Later, he joined the Croatian Army forces during the Croatian War of Independence. He was a Brigadier and commanded the Sinj area’s Croatian military units, including the Peruca Dam. He was appointed to the position of sub-commander of the Gospic military area in 1993. However, he was discharged from duty after Operation Medak. Later, he was promoted to brigadier-general for his contributions in Operation Storm 1995. He was there until 1999, when he was promoted to brigadier general and appointed Assistant Chief Inspector of Armed Forces Zagreb.

Ademi was born and raised in Vucitrn in Karac, Yugoslavia, (modern-day Kosovo). He graduated from the Yugoslav military school in Belgrade in 1976. He was assigned to Rogoznica, near Sibenik, Croatia. There he got married and had two kids.

After serving one year and half in jail, the Military Court of Sarajevo found him guilty of counterrevolutionary acts. The Supreme Military Court acquitted him after he was released from prison. From 1986 to 1990, he was an officer in Sinj. He then left the Yugoslav People’s Army to create Croatian army formations.

Ademi claims that the Croatian government, under international pressure, relieved him of duty in Gospić in 1993 in order to make him a scapegoat, rather than implicating commanding officers Janko Bobetko, Mirko Norac and Mladen Markač. He alleged that the Tribunal wanted him for questioning as far back as 1998 but the government did not allow him to answer their questions. On 30 May 2008, he was acquitted by the Zagreb County Court of responsibility for atrocities committed against Serb prisoners by Croat troops during Operation Medak Pocket.
