Viollet played on the tour up to 1997. She then took some time off to care for her father who was dying from brain cancer. She returned to tennis in 2000 and was a major player on the ITF circuit.

The University of Miami inducted Viollet into its Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.

In 2016, Viollet released the documentary “Dennis Viollet: A United Man”, which premiered on Manchester United Television Network. The film tells the story of her father, a Manchester United soccer player who survived the Munich air-crash and moved to America in the 1960s, where he helped pioneer professional soccer.

She was awarded a wildcard to the singles main draw at the 1996 Wimbledon Championships. In the first round she defeated Megan Miller, a fellow British wildcard. She was then beaten in the second round by Martina Hingis (16th seed). Viollet was the top-ranked professional female tennis player in Britain in 1996.
