R Sudhakar is one of the most popular and richest Judge who was born on February 14, 1959 in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. His father, S.T.Ramalingam, was a Madras High Court Judge. His maternal grandfather, S.P.Sri Ram served as a District Judge before retiring as Chairman of Sales Tax Appellate Tribunal. His family was active in the Indian independence movement. His maternal great-grandfather, S. P. Ayyaswamy Mudaliar (a well- known Civil Engineer in early 20th century), was an active freedom fighter. The family housed many freedom fighters and national leaders during the years 1939-1940.

Sudhakar was educated in Egmore, Chennai, at Don Bosco Matriculation school. After completing his school education, he graduated from St. Mary’s Higher Secondary College, Madurai. He received a college degree from Loyola College in Chennai. Madras Law College conferred him a degree in Law.

The Supreme Court Collegium recommended Sudhakar as Chief Justice of Manipur High Court on 27 April 2018.

Paul Vasanthakumar as Chief Justice, he was appointed Acting Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court. He served until the appointment of Badar Durrez Ahmad, the current Chief Justice. After Justice Badar Durrez Ahmed’s retirement, he assumed the role as Acting Chief Justice on 16 March 2018.
