Taylor, who was 16 years old, joined Dulwich Hamlet’s youth academy in the summer 2010 and spent seven months there before joining Crystal Palace in March 2011. Taylor signed a professional two-year contract with Crystal Palace in the summer 2012, committing his future to the club until 2014. Taylor signed a one-month loan agreement with Conference side Welling United in March 2014. Taylor played in nine league games and scored one goal during his loan period. Crystal Palace released Taylor along with 11 other players at the conclusion of the 2013-14 season.
Taylor signed a one year professional contract with Championship side Bolton Wanderers in July 2014. Taylor was a regular on the reserve team, appearing in 20 league matches. This resulted in Taylor playing the entire 90 minutes of the match against Birmingham City. Taylor lost the match 1-0. After making his professional debut, he said, “The Birmingham match was a bit crazy. It was all new and daunting, but it was something that I felt could not have gone better apart from the result.” I felt at home with the team. I didn’t know I would be starting the game – although I was included in the matchday team, I wasn’t aware until I was in the dressing room. Taylor made his debut and was awarded a 12-month extension to his contract that would keep him at the Macron Stadium through the summer 2016.
In March 2016, he joined League Two side Dagenham & Redbridge on loan until the end of the season.
