As director of the Royal Stables of Jordan for the Conservation of the Arabian Horses in 1988, Princess Alia organized the Middle East Championships for Purebred Horses. The Princess Alia Foundation is a non- profit, nongovernmental organization that she founded. It is located under the Ministry of Social Development of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Its motto is “Respect and compassion towards creation”. She was the 2011 World Arabian Horse Organization (WAHO), keynote speaker. Her speech, “The Relationship between Horses and Humans In Today’s World,” was a clear example of the parallels between animal welfare rights and human rights.
