Maurice Shembo, his father, immigrated from the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the United States in 1986. Christelle Shembo is his sister and a forward on the Wake Forest University women’s basketball team.

He was a true freshman and saw action in all 13 games of 2010. He was one the six freshmen who made their Irish debut against Purdue and one of three freshmen who played in every game. He had 15 tackles in the year, six solo and nine assisted stops, five tackles for loss, and four and a quarter sacks. He was a part of 12 Irish games and started eight contests in 2011. He had 31 tackles, three-and-a-half for loss, and two sacks. Shembo’s junior season 2012 saw him set career records in tackles (51) and tackles for loss (10.5), as well as sacks (75) and quarterback hurries (12). He was awarded first-team all-independent honors. He started all 13 games as a senior and had 46 tackles.

Shembo was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the fourth round (139th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft. He signed with the Falcons on May 18, 2014.

On May 29, 2015, Shembo was arrested by Gwinnett Police after being accused of killing his girlfriend’s dog.

Prince attended Ardrey Kell High school in Charlotte, North Carolina. He only played five games in the senior campaign. In the preseason, he suffered a severe ankle injury and was then suspended from school for an aggressive incident against a teacher on September 16, 2009. As a junior, he recorded 86 tackles with nine sacks. He also added two interceptions and two forced fumbles to his stats. In 2007, he made 117 tackles in sophomore season and was named to the 2007 Charlotte Observer all-Observer team.
