In March 2016, Prema filed a divorce petition against Jeevan Appacchu at the Family Court in Bangalore.
She starred in hits films in 1999, which helped her climb to the top of Kannada movie. Chandramuki Pranasakhi and Upendra star in Naanu Nanna Hendthiru, a Kannada language film. Devi, which earned Rs. 18 crores at box- office, and was also dubbed into Hindi.

Mohanlal was her Malayalam debut film in The Prince. Dharma Chakram was Dharma Chakram’s Telugu debut movie.
