She received her education at Sishu Griha Montessori and High School in Bangalore. Poorvisha began playing badminton at the age of five and was a national champion in Karnataka in 2007. At 13 years old, she won her first competition tournament. It was an inter-school national tournament.
Poorvisha was awarded her first senior title at the 2015 Uganda International double event. She shared this victory with N. Sikki Reddy. She won the Bahrain International that same year with Arathi Sara Moonil. Poorvisha, who was suffering from career-ending lateral and medical epicondylitis in late 2015, was forced to miss sixteen weeks. However, she recovered and returned to work in early 2016.
Poorvisha was born in Bangalore and trained initially at B. N. Sudhakar Academy. She moved to Hyderabad in 2013, where she studied under Pullela Gopichand, Gopichand Badminton Academy. She currently trains with Pradnya Gadre and Arun Vishnu.

Poorvisha represented India in Li- Ning Singapore Youth International Series 2012 and won silver medal for the women’s double.
In 2016, Poorvisha partnered with Meghana Jakkampudi and won Nepal International in Kathmandu. Since 2016, Poorvisha has spent her double career in partnership with Jakkampudi whereas in mixed doubles, she partners with Krishna Prasad Ganga. In 2017, Poorvisha and Jakkampudi appeared in various international competitions including 2017 Syed Modi International Grand Prix Gold and 2017 All England Super Series Premier. They reached the finals of Tata Open India International in 2018. In 2019, the pair appeared in Russian Open semifinals where they lost to Japanese pair of Miki Kashihara and Miyuki Kato.
