Jok’s shooting continued to impress, as he led the Big Ten in FT% at 91.1% (154/169) and was fifth in the Big Ten in 3P% at 38.0% (84/221). He was named first team all-conference in the Big Ten, was an AP Senior All-American, and earned an honorable mention on the AP All-American team. He won the 2017 College Three-Point Shooting contest at the 2017 Final Four on his 23rd birthday.

In the first game of the 2018-19 season, Jok had a double-double with 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting, 10 rebounds and two assists in a 118-108 loss to the Santa Cruz Warriors.

In his first time in the University of Iowa (2013-14) Jok played 9.4 MPG for the Hawkeyes with an average of 4.4 per game and 34.8 percentage on 3P%, which is the eighth-highest score for the freshman class. He also set the record for freshman scoring at least 10 points and shooting over 80 percent in the first round of an NCAA Tournament game against the University of Tennessee. As an sophomore, he participated in every single game, averaging 7.0 PPG, and 34.3 percent on 3-pointers. Jok improved dramatically during the season he was a junior by scoring 16.1 PPG with 27.7 MPG while shooting 40.2 percent on 3P percentage (80/199). He was named to the second team all-conference for the Big Ten.

Jok was born in the year 2000 and spent his early years at Khartoum, Sudan. When Peter was only three year old, his dad was killed as a general in his organization, the Sudan People’s Liberation Army during the Second Sudanese Civil War. Peter’s grandfather, who was the chief of their village, also killed in the conflict. As a child, Peter was solely exposed to soccer, but did not have any experience in basketball. The family eventually moved to Uganda and later Kenya to escape war. They joined with other Sudanese refugee refugees living from Des Moines, Iowa, which is where they relocated to in December 2003. Jok came to America United States without knowing any English.

Jok was a student at Theodore Roosevelt High School in Des Moines for his first two years of high school basketball. In his freshman year the school ranked him in the rankings of Scout.com in the Top players from the United States. In 2010 his name was included in the Nike Top 100 camp in St. Louis, making him one of the 30 freshman to be invited to the event. In the course it was during the time he injured his knee and, believing this was a case of tendinitis he continued participate as a junior. He later discovered that he had an injured patellar tendon and had surgery June of 2011. In his sophomore season, Jok averaged 18.5 points and seven rebounds, securing All-Conference and second-team all-state recognition. After his second year Jok made the move into Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa, where his coach was Jeff Horner, who was the leading scorer of assists at the University of Iowa. At first, he was hard to get into his rhythm. After he recovered as an undergraduate, Jok averaged 10.2 points and 4.3 rebounding, while shooting 37 percent from three-point shots. The following year Jok was named first-team the all-state team and first-team Parade All-American, averaging 23.6 points. This made him the top scoring player in Iowa 4A class. 4A.

After being undrafted for the 2017 NBA draft, Jok played for the New Orleans Pelicans in Las Vegas during the 2017 NBA Summer League. He recorded around nine points per game in three games with the Pelicans. On September 22, 2017, Jok signed a partially guaranteed deal with the Phoenix Suns. He was waived by Phoenix before playing a single game with them on October 11, 2017. He was called up by the Northern Arizona Suns as an affiliate player on October 24,
