- She is an American musician and singer who is well-known as the vocalist of the punk rock band from San Francisco, known as the band called the Avengers. She was born in Seattle. In the late 1970s, she was a student at Fairhaven College in Bellingham, Washington. After 1977, Houston relocated to San Francisco and went to San Francisco Art Institute, San Francisco Art Institute, and soon after she became the music and vocalist for the band Avengers. The group had released one record, their debut album titled “Eponymous” in 1983.

Following their release Pale Green Girl, Houston and guitarist Greg Ingraham recreated the Avengers and added the bassist Joel Reader (formerly of The Mr. T Experience, and The Plus Ones) and drummer Luis Illades (of Pansy Division and formerly from The Plus Ones) to complete the line-up. Since 2004, she has performed in throughout the U.S. and Europe with this group. She continues to perform her own material, mostly within areas like the San Francisco Bay Area.
