Moutinho was released from The Falkirk Stadium on the 13th of May 2010, after signing as a player with AEP Paphos FC of Cyprus. In the closing days of the subsequent transfer window however after a test at another Scottish Premier League club Motherwell the club he signed with Falkirk for the third time before being let go at the close this season.
On 31 March 2015, after nearly two years out of football, Moutinho moved to Scottish League One team Stenhousemuir until June. At the end of the campaign, he was released.
Then, in October of 2009 Moutinho had been released by Maritimo and was re- admitted to Falkirk. On the 8th of November He scored and played in their 3-3 draw at home against Celtic and in the month of January, 2009 the contract was extended to the end of the 2009-10 season.

At the end of summer 2004 Moutinho was signed by Falkirk in Scotland initially with a one-year contract. Moutinho scored 19 goals during the first four seasons with the club, which included the most memorable goal against Rangers to score an equaliser in the draw that took place in 2005. However, knee injuries hindered him from part two of the club’s Scottish First Division championship-winning side in 2004-05.
Moutinho was on the verge of securing the transfer to Kayserispor However, the deal did not get completed before the end of the Turkish transfer window in the early part of 2008. On the 21st of May, Moutinho finally quit Falkirk to sign a contract to return to his homeland as was re-joining Maritimo. He said “I am going to keep the house I have in Falkirk and hopefully I’ll be back. I feel now is the right move for me with a two-year contract but after that I will be a free agent again and who knows”The move was signifying his desire for a return visit to Bairns in the near future.
In early August 2011, the 32-year-old Moutinho changed teams and countries again, joining FC Brașov in Romania. Subsequently, he signed a one-year deal with CD Atlético Baleares of the Spanish Segunda División B.
