Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr. (born 30 April 1969 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil) is a Brazilian bassist and musician for the heavy metal group Sepultura. Pinto was a member of Sepultura following “Gato”‘s (Roberto Raffan) separated in 1984. He was Sepultura’s only bassist in history. Although there are no original members remaining within Sepultura, Pinto is the longest-running Sepultura member. Sepultura.
On April 8, 2008 Xisto has been awarded the Medalha of Inconfidencia. This award was created in 1952 by former Brazilian president Juscelino Kubitschek to pay tribute to those who have contributed to the growth of the state Minas Gerais and the country. The ceremony was held at Ouro Preto, hosted by the Governor of Minas Gerais, Aecio Neves.
In 2007 Xisto was a bassist on Sayowa’s sophomore album. He also performed an appearance in Eminence’s album 4 The Stalker and provided additional bass support.

The year 1984 was when Xisto came across his fellow Cavalera Brothers in the Santa Teresa neighbourhood of Belo Horizonte through a acquaintance. He was a member of Sepultura following the departure of Sepultura’s prior bassist, Roberto Raffan. Xisto was the first to perform in The Ideal Club at Santa Teresa. He is the longest-running member of the group, and he is on every album, with the exception of Beneath the Remains.
In 1999 Xisto is organizing a number of annual charity football games featuring the former Brazilian players, television stars musicians and the members of the band. The matches took place on the Estadio Municipal Castor Cifuentes in Nova Lima, Brazil, close to Belo Horizonte. The fans were asked to give a pound worth of food. The donations were distributed to local charitable organizations.
In 2009, Xisto joined with Alan Wallace and André Márcio of Eminence and Vladimir Korg of Chakal to form the band The Unabomber Files. In 2013, the group released a six-song EP and a teaser for the music video of the song “Buried In My Bunker”.
