Obiefule is an all Nigerian international. He made his debut with his club Super Eagles in the LG tournament in 2004. He was a part of the Super Eagles squad that won bronze in Egypt in the year 2006. He has been selected 10 times for his nation.

Obiefule was a target for a move to English Championship side Watford, Scottish Aberdeen and Norwegian Honefoss. Obiefule had a verbal agreement on the 14th of December 2009 to sign an extended contract of three years with Honefoss due to an injury to his knee that could have hampered his move to Scotland as well as England. Obiefule signed a six-month loan with Lillestrom on August 2nd, 2011, and was selected for the match against Tromso on the following day, which was on August 3, but without any having to train with the new teammates. On February 12, 2012, Obiefule signed an agreement for the 2012 season with the Finnish Veikkausliiga club KuPS.

In August 2015, Obiefule agreed for a contract with Danish club Holstebro, after playing for Møldrup/Tostrup. He retired in 2017.
