Paul Edward Maguire (born 21 August 1956) is a Scottish former soccer player with 81 goals during 373 league games within the Football League. He played in the four divisions of Football League, as well as the Conference and the Major Indoor Soccer League.

Maguire came back to England and signed with Port Vale, Stoke’s Potteries rivals in the derby of June of 1985. Maguire played regularly in the team and scored thirteen goals (including five penalty shots) in 57 games to assist players from the “Valiants” to win promotion from the Fourth Division in 1985-86. Director John Rudge gave Andy Jones the responsibility of taking penalties in 1986-87, however Maguire managed to score nine goals over the course of 52 games, helping Vale to a respectable mid-table place at the top of the Third Division. Maguire was sacked in December 1987, and following the scoring of five times in 34 contests during 1987-88, he was granted the option of a transfer to Vale Park in May 1988. He was a part of the nearby Conference club Northwich Victoria as the player-assistant manager.
