Paul Chalmers (born 31 October 1963) is a Scottish professional footballer who was striker with several clubs, including St Mirren in Scotland and Swansea City in the English leagues.

When he left St Mirren in November 1989, Chalmers signed for Swansea City at a cost of PS124,000 . He won the Welsh Cup in 1991, after which he returned back to Scotland at the end of 1992 join Dunfermline Athletic. The following year, he joined Hamilton Academical, scoring on his debut in the league with Brechin City. Chalmers played in the attack and defence during his time at Accies and scored seven goals in the span of 48 appearances. He joined Ayr United, in the year 1995, and then the move to East Fife.

In the four years he was in the club’s Love Street, Chalmers scored 27 goals over 113 games. In 1987, he was a part of several Saint Mirren’s Scottish Cup ties, scoring twice in their 4th Round 3-1 win against Morton and also in their quarter-final victory of 2-0 against Raith Rovers. However, he was injured during the final stretch of the season and did not play in the team’s 1-0 win against Dundee United. However, he was able to participate in four European games of the cup winner’s tournament the following season’s competition. In 1988-89, Chalmers was St Mirren’s most prolific scorer with 11 goals.
