He remained in his team the Terras until the end of 2000, in which time it was decided that his contract would not be renewed. He was a bit injured during the season with hernia-related groin injuries and was upset about being released with no opportunity to prove his fitness. He then became a member of Saltash United where he played with the former Torquay teammate, Michael Preston. He then was a player for Devon non-league club Tavistock and was employed as a scaffolder. He was awarded the Chairman’s player of year award in the 2003-2004 season. He was still playing for the club during the 2005-06 season with the league’s three goals.
But, hindered with a foot injury as well as an inability to play the player played just one time, in the second half replacement to Rodney Jack in the 3-3 League Cup draw at home to Bristol City on 28 August prior to being released and resuming non-league football. The club he was with initially was Bath City, before joining Gloucester City, managed by Leroy Rosenior in November 1996. Gloucester went through many changes over the brief time Adcock was in the club, mostly because of the financial problems the club was experiencing. Adcock was later a part of Weymouth initially as a loan player on the 31st of March 1998. Later, he joined Weymouth as the Bosman free transfer during the close-season of 1998.

Adcock was born in Ilminster, Somerset. Adcock began his professional journey as an apprenticeship for Plymouth Argyle, turning professional on August 7, 1990. The Pilgrims made their league debut with the Pilgrims on September 18, 1990, in a draw against Oxford United at Home Park.
He did not make it within the Plymouth team, and made only 21 league appearances during the three years following the release of manager Peter Shilton in the 1993 final season, at which point the club was renamed Bath City. In his first appearance with Bath in August 1993 he scored three goals and his performances within the Conference (averaging one goal per game) giving him a second shot at league football after Torquay United signed him on 16 August 1996.
