But dance was in her blood so she left a contract role after two years, to the shock of the producers and her agent, to “shadow” Bob Fosse’s entourage and “gypsy” New York’s finest jazz and ballet classes until she left with her boyfriend for Los Angeles in 1981.

An ancestor of Charlotte, North Carolina, she endured a challenging childhood as the child of a mentally ill and violent mother. When she was older, Pease was married twice (to Bobby Martin and Ray Jeffers) and had two sons, one who had a joint condition that was rare, known as arthrogryposis.
