Patrick Michael Pacillo (born July 23rd 1963) was one of the American pro- sportsman who played professionally for the past two years. Pacillo played with his team the Cincinnati Reds of the Major League Baseball (MLB) between 1987 and 1988.
Pacillo is probably best known as the man who replaced Pete Rose on the Reds 40-man roster after the season of 1986. Rose who at then was the player- manager of the team, resigned himself off the Reds’ roster to give way to Pacillo.
In 1988, Pacaillo was traded to the Montreal Expos along with Tracy Jones for Randy St. Claire, Jeff Reed, and Herm Winningham. He never pitched in the majors again.
He was chosen to the Cincinnati Reds in the 1st round (5th selection) from the 1984 MLB draft from Seton Hall University, where the team he played for was the Pirates under the head trainer Mike Sheppard.

The years 1982-83, Pacillo participated in collegiate summer ball with Harwich Mariners. Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL). He played in the outfield and as a pitcher, hitting .338 in 1983, and leading Harwich to the league championship. Pacillo was admitted into the CCBL Hall of Fame in 2005.
In 1984, during the Summer Olympics, Pat played baseball for the United States team. The notable players included Will Clark, Barry Larkin, Mark McGwire, B. J. Surhoff, Bill Swift, and Bobby Witt. The US team was defeated in the final against Japan.
