O’May is a native of Rouen, France. When he was a teenager He was a lover of the rock genre along with R&B by The Osmond Brothers, however their Album Machine Head by Deep Purple led him to becoming a rock guitarist. The band he joined was the hard metal group Marienthal around 1982. He taught guitar and also took lessons away from Patrick Duplan which made him investigate classical music, blues and bossa nova. Marienthal performed in France, England, and Algeria as well as played for bands like Girlschool, Alvin Lee, and Chariot. After a conflict over their management, the group ended up breaking up in 1987. O’May continues to tour as part of the band Road 66 across France but drinking in bars resulted in exuberance. O’May decides to stop this inclination when he embarks on a tour of Belfort He spent the night in Belfort where he was introduced to the group Ange along with the drummer Peter Hartmann and bassist Alain De Bernardi who he later reformed with the group Road 66. They regrouped into the eastern part of France as well as Germany.

He continued touring for both of Simon’s projects through 2011 and 2012, visiting Switzerland, France, and Germany. He developed a friendship with Martin Barre, and later toured with him in October 2011. In 2012, Martin Barre invited him to join his new group with prestigious line up for several tours in Britain, Germany, Italy, USA. O’May appeared in 2012 as guest on Alan Stivell concerts, in earlier parts of several concerts of Uli Jon Roth (ex-Scorpions guitarist) and played in Nancy Zénith including Scorpions, Pat McManus, Gamma Ray, Karelia and Koritni.
