Parker LeGrand Jacobs was born in Ogden, Utah in 1975 as the third child born to the Mormon family. Jacobs’ middle name is in honour of his great-grandfather who was a prominent Leader of the Latter-day Saints LeGrand Richards. After the family’s move from the United States to California around 1976 Jacobs along with his children Christian along with Rachel and Tyler, who was younger than them Tyler was an actor in the child stage performing in a variety of commercials and TV shows during his early adolescent. His most memorable acting credits was a lead role in the sitcom The Cavavanaughs where he was a part of every episode of the show’s run from 1986 until 1989 and also as the recurring character “Purdle the Turtle” on The Wonder Years. Jacobs was let go from the acting in 1991 after which he moved to California in 1991 to St. George, Utah with his family.
Jacobs is a resident of Huntington Beach, California, and has two daughters as well as four stepsons. From 2008 onwards, Jacobs has posted a drawing each day on his website as the form of a feature called “Daily Doodles”.
Jacobs served as a “creative consultant” for both seasons of The Aquabats’ live-action television series The Aquabats! Super Show!, contributing ideas and bits of writing to each episode between his work as art director on Yo Gabba Gabba!. In 2012, Jacobs, alongside Christian Jacobs and Jon Berrett, created The Goon Holler Guidebook, a children’s book about a Bigfoot and a wizard. Jacobs has expressed plans to pitch Goon Holler as a television series, and published the first of four children’s books based on the concept, Welcome to Goon Holler, in November 2014.
Jacobs was hired by Paul Frank Industries as an graphic designer and artist in the year 2000. She eventually earned an award of the Designer in Chief. In addition to creating the company’s products Jacobs was noted for his work in creating and illustrating the first company children’s novel, Only in Dreams: A Bedtime Story that featured his Paul Frank mascot Julius the Monkey. The year 2005 was the first time he worked alongside Josh Agel, the artist who is better known as Shag to develop the clothing line, which did not come to fruition.

Parker LeGrand Jacobs (born July 17th 1975) is an American musician, artist and an actor from childhood. He is well-known for his role as an art director for the children’s TV show Yo Gabba Gabba!, for which he’s been recognized for his work with the award of four Daytime Emmy Awards, as in addition to his work with the Californian band GOGO13, The Aquabats and The Sandfleas.
While in St. George, Jacobs started the ska group GOGO13 along with the help of his older brother Tyler in 1993. In that year, Jacobs was the co-lead vocalist and songwriter. Although GOGO13 was a noted local success, the initial form of the band ran less than a year, and then Jacobs quit Utah for the first time in 1994, to fulfill his role with the LDS Church, spending two years in West Virginia. Following returning, Jacobs relocated into California and was a part of Christian’s brother’s band The Aquabats, providing artwork for their albums, logos, and merchandise, in addition to providing lyrics, a variety of inventive ideas and managing Their fan-club. The most prominently, however, Jacobs played the role of “The Professor” in The Aquabats music videos and stage shows, participating in the group’s skits on stage and even providing backup vocals. In addition as stage-name “Mel”, Jacobs was the vocalist in charge of The Sandfleas, The Aquabats their costumed surf-punk side project and recorded an EP together in 1999. Jacobs was let go of The Aquabats in the early 2000s, although he occasionally creates advertisements and other merchandise designed for The Aquabats. group.
That same year, Jacobs helped contribute art design for an independently filmed pilot called Yo Gabba Gabba!, a children’s television series being developed by his brother Christian and his creative partner Scott Schultz. In 2007, the series was picked up by Viacom’ s Nick Jr. channel, prompting Jacobs to leave his job at Paul Frank to work full-time on the show. His various titles on Yo Gabba Gabba! have included character design, animation direction, set design, color styling, writing, composing, voiceovers, art direction and costume design, the latter two of which earned him three nominations for a Daytime Emmy Award. In the September 22, 2008 episode “Birthdays”, Jacobs made an on-camera appearance in the “Cool Tricks” segment, showcasing his affinity for baking birthday cakes.
