In October of 2018, Tramezzani was appointed as the new manager of APOEL. He led APOEL towards their 7th league championship following an 3-0 win at home against Apollon Limassol, and also made it to their final in the Cypriot Cup, where they lost 2-0 to AEL Limassol.
Tramezzani was sacked on 8 August 2019 following a 1–2 loss against Qarabağ in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round.
On the 21st December of 2016 he was formally announced as the coach of Lugano. In June of 2017, Tramezzani was appointed head coach of Sion before being dismissed in October.

Tramezzani was born at Castelnovo ne’ Monti in Emilia. He began his career with the Italian team Prato as well as playing with Cosenza, Lucchese, Inter Milan, Venezia, Cesena and Piacenza before moving to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 1998. The club was which was then managed by Christian Gross. Even though he scored on his debut in a friendly game against Peterborough United, his time at Spurs was brief. He was sent from Pistoese located in Italy for a price of PS400,000. Then he returned to Piacenza and ended the career at Atalanta.
From 2011 until 2016 Tramezzani was the assistant coach of Albania national team under manager Gianni De Biasi.
On 10 December 2019, he was hired by the Serie B club Livorno, in last place in the league table at the time. He was dismissed by Livorno on 3 February 2020 after the team only achieved 2 draws and 5 losses in 7 games under Tramezzani’s helm.
