Rahman’s informal career started from college life. He started his career as the Rajbari district correspondents on weekly Robbar. He also worked as a freelancer in a number of daily newspapers. Besides, he has also worked as a feature writer for weekly Jaijaidin. After starting work as a contributor to the Daily Muktokantha, the work started as a contributor to the Daily Prothom Alo. Alongside the feature reporting, he worked as a writer and editing assistant for the regular science pages. He had been involved in the operation since October 1998 with Prothom Alo. In addition to working as a feature reporter, editing assistant in different sections, Rahman worked as the Coordinator of the Bangladesh Mathematical Olympiad Volunteers (MOVers) team. In 2006, he started his work in television journalism. That time he starts working with Channel I as the sports journalist. As a sports journalist, he covers Asian Games, Olympics, Cricket World Cup, Commonwealth Games etc. He is involved in politics, economy, air and tourism, culture, communications, health, law and crime reporting, but he is regularly associated with Information technology and telecommunications, environmental and river-related journalism. Later on joined public administration and diplomatic affairs journalism.
