Campo is a former professional tennis player. He was a participant at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona as an instructor of the Chilean Female Olympic Tennis Team. Campo was the Director of Tennis for the National Team of the Qatar Tennis & Squash Federation and also the Davis Cup coach, leading the Qatari team to win the Davis Cup in 1994 and the GCC Games. He also served as the coach of many professional tennis players on the ATP Tour, such as Gilles Bastie, Tomas Carbonell, Billy Uribe and Juan Carlos Baguena among other players. Pancho was a tennis coach at the academy run by Nick Bollettieri for over 7 years throughout both the US, Spain and the Middle East. He also established the International Tennis Coaches Symposium that was held at Murcia, Barcelona, Madrid and Alicante. He was the key figure in the creation of the Bollettieri International Coaches Program. He was the conductor of many tennis shows as well as the Pancho Campo Tennis Show with famous players like Andre Agassi, Pat Cash, Stefan Edberg, Emilio Sanchez Vicario, Richard Krajicek and Arantxa Sanchez Vicario among others.
Prior to an event called the Winefuture Rioja 09 event with famous winemakers from around the world, such as Robert Parker, Jancis Robinson MW, Oz Clarke, Steven Spurrier, Miguel Torres, Robert Joseph and Gary Vaynerchuk scheduled to speak and an outstanding warrant regarding the area in Campo was issued from the UAE in 2003. Then, the Interpol Red Notice was made public. The warrant was withdrawn in October 2009. Campo made it clear that he’d removed himself as the president of the Wine Academy of Spain and quit as director of Winefuture Rioja, to be replaced by Kevin Zraly, in order to focus on getting his name out of the way’. In July 2010, Interpol took down their site the warrant that referred to Campo’s place of residence and Campo released a statement to the media stating “I have been informed today that Interpol accepted my request to take my name out of their list. They have found that a mistake was made and an injustice was committed against me”.
