Pramod Kumar Thakur , or P. K. Thakur (born 18 February 1958) is retired Indian Police Service (I.P.S.) officer from Bihar State in India He is currently the Information commissioner for the states of Bihar. He was Director General of the Bihar State Police of Bihar Police from June 2014 until February of 2018. He is part of the I.P.S. batch from 1980. He was also the Director General (Vigilance Bureau) in Bihar. He was awarded the National Security Guard Disc for his work excellence in the Central Police Organization as Inspector General (Administration). He was appointed to the position of Information Commissioner of the Bihar State Information Commission in October of 2018.

Thakur is part of his Bihar Cadre of the Indian Police Service (I.P.S.). His first assignment was as Patna City Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in 1981, and then he was promoted to Patna Chief of Police (City SP). He was assigned to several districts in Bihar as well as Jharkhand (erstwhile an area in Bihar) as the Superintendent of Police. He also worked as the Deputy Director General (DIG) at the National Human Rights Commission, Inspector General at the Central Police Organization and Director General of the Vigilance Bureau in Bihar.
