He had a stint with the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL). After playing in college football at Wake Forest University, he was selected into the 4th round of 2003’s NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens.

In 2007 Mughelli was signed by The Atlanta Falcons to block for running backs Warrick Dunn and Jerious Norwood. On March 2nd, Mughelli signed a 6-year $18 million contract that included an additional $5 million in signing bonuses. This was the most lucrative contract that a fullback could sign within NFL in the history of football at that time.
