In 2010, he composed Sidereus for a consortium of 35 American orchestras, to commemorate Galileo.

He was born to an Jewish family that brought him up to the age of La Plata, Argentina. He was the son of a doctor while his mother worked as a piano instructor. He got married to architect Neri Oxman in 2011.
