Then, in August of 2014 Colley was signed to a contract for three years with Swedish club Djurgardens IF, starting the 1st of January, 2015. Colley played his first game for the club on the 22nd of February, 2015 against Angelholms FF in the Swedish Cup. On the 12th of August, the 12th of August Colley went to Belgium to undergo a medical examination with the top club K.R.C. Genk and, as a result, Colley was not able to attend the practice session before the game against IF Elfsborg which was against the wishes of Djurgarden. The Director of Sport for Djurgarden Bo Andersson told the football website Fotbollskanalen.se that Djurgarden would be prepared to present the matter to FIFA because of the incident that K.R.C Genk, without the consent as well as knowledge Djurgarden booked an airline ticket and hotel room for Colley that was in violation of the contract that was signed between Colley with Djurgarden. Andersson declared that Djurgarden will not offer Colley to Genk following the incident. On August 14, Colley started the match against IF Elfsborg on the bench because of the incident. The next day, Colley was transferred to Genk despite the agreement of not selling Colley in the future to Genk. The amount of the transfer was stated by the Swedish Expressen newspaper Expressen that it was EUR2 million with an option to resell that could make Colley the third highest-priced player that has ever been sold to an Allsvenskan team following the former Djurgarden teammate Daniel Amartey and IF Elfsborg player Jon Jonsson.
