Olivier Yohan Dacourt (born 25 September 1974) is an French ex-professional footballer, who was midfielder. He was also a French international player and is best known for his stints with English club Leeds United and Italian clubs Roma and Inter Milan.

Dacourt was signed by Leeds United after a move from Lens in an PS7.2 million deal in the year 2000. Dacourt broke Leeds record-breaking transfer records when he joined the club. Dacourt was an instant hit in the club’s first season at Elland Road with his tenacious style and ball-winning game. The time he spent with Leeds saw them make it to the Champions League semi finals and also finish in the top four of the Premier League. Dacourt was a regular player in middle in midfield with director David O’Leary, mainly partnering David Batty at the heart of Leeds midfield. Dacourt’s performance at Leeds also led to Dacourt becoming a regular player for the French national team. However, following the demotion of O’Leary and his substitute Terry Venables dropped Dacourt from the Leeds team, and favored players such as Paul Okon to be ahead of Dacourt in the pecking list.

Dacourt joined Roma on loan, with an option to purchase for £4 million. He signed a contract worth €1.85 million in gross. On 10 July 2003, Roma agreed to sign Dacourt outright for a new price: €5 million. Dacourt signed a 3-year contract, worth €4 million in gross each season. After being on the losing side in the Coppa Italia final against Inter Milan in 2005–06, Dacourt joined the club from Roma on a two-year contract in accordance with the Bosman ruling.

Originally signed as a backup player for Inter Milan, he became a key player of the league victory, in light of all the injuries to Patrick Vieira. On 2 December 2007, against Fiorentina, he damaged his left knee, with a torn cruciate ligament and damage to two other ligaments in it. He was expected to be out for the rest of the 2007–08 season.

Dacourt moved from Everton in 1998. His debut match at the Premier League was a 0-0 draw against Aston Villa on 15 August 1998. On September 23, 1998 Dacourt scored his debut goal in the League Cup tie against Huddersfield Town. Dacourt was a popular choice among Everton fans. Everton fans, but was heckled at the final home game that season, in the month of May when they played West Ham after comments in an French report that Dacourt was discontented at Everton and wanted to move out in the summer.
