Olga Sofia Ravn (born 27 September 1986) is a Danish novelist and poet. At first, she published poetry that was well-received by critics, and so was her debut novel Celestine (2015). She also works as a translator as well as working as an editor of literary criticism at Politiken and a variety of different Danish publications.
In 2012, Ravn released her first collection of poems, Jeg Aeder mig selv som lyrics (“I Eat Myself as Heather”). The collection explores the way young women’s bodies respond to sex, friendship and love. The collection came out in Swedish.
In 2015 she published her first novel, Celestine, about a boarding school teacher’s obsession with a ghost who has much in common with her. The main difference between the two, the teacher points out, is that she is not yet dead.
Ravn was editor on the 2015 book Jeg ville være enke, og jeg ville være digter: Glemte tekster af Tove Ditlevsen (“I Wanted to Be a Widow, and I Wanted to Be a Poet: Forgotten texts by Tove Ditlevsen”).
Ravn was highly praised in the fall edition of Danish Literary Magazine in 2011 The magazine described her forthcoming poem collection Jeg me aeder som Lyng the book being “a passionate, lyrical collection that deals with freeing oneself from the role of young girl”. The book is also said to have received a positive review from Danish reviewers who called it “bursting with talent” and “ambitious and well-wrought”.

Ravn released her very first work in Copenhagen literary journal Hvedekorn in the year 2008. In the years since, her work has been published throughout Konvolut 28/6 Trappe Tusind Verbale Pupiller Antologi 2010. She also wrote for Forfatterskolens Afgangsantologi 2010. Her first poetry was called “rhythmic, playful, sensual and image-rich” has received an enthusiastic critical acclaim.
Olga Ravn was born and was raised in Copenhagen as the daughter of the singer Anne Dorte Michelsen asn visual designer and artist Peter Ravn. In 2010, she completed her studies at the Danish School of Authors, Forfatterskolen [da] in the city of Forfatterskolen.
In 2014 Ravn published a chapbook of poetry titled Mean Girl, consisting of coloured sheets of paper and glimmering scraps. Only 250 copies were released, each prepared with individual attention so that none were identical. Mean Girl (et utdrag), a selection of Mean Girl translated to Norwegian, was published by Flamme Forlag [no] in 2015.
