Oksana Masters (born on 19 June 1989) is a Paralympic Ukrainian-American Cross-country skier as well as rower who hails from Louisville, Kentucky. In the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London she took home the first United States medal in trunk and arms double sculls. She was also part of the U.S. Nordic skiing team during the 2014 Winter Paralympics and the 2018 Winter Paralympics. She was awarded the two Paralympic medals during 2014 as well as 5 Paralympic medals for 2018 including two gold medals. She also took part in the 2016 Summer Paralympics in para-cycling.
In 2011 Masters and his teammate Augusto Perez came in second place at the Adaptive World Championships trials.
Due to a back injury, Masters has given up competitive rowing since winning a bronze medal at the 2012 London Paralympics. She has since taken up para- cycling and cross country skiing.
On September 2, at the 2012 London Paralympics, Masters and Jones finished third—winning the first-ever United States medal (bronze) in trunk and arms mixed double sculls with a final time of 4:05.56. They finished behind China (gold) and France (silver) while just edging out Great Britain.
Masters started the sport of adaptive rowing when she was 13, just before her leg on the right was removed. After that, she continued and started rowing adaptively in competitive events. She participated in the CRASH-B Sprints setting a new world record during the course. She was also the first sculler with an adaptive design to participate at the Indianapolis Rowing Club “Head of the Eagle” regatta and won in the open women’s singles competition as well.

When she moved to the United States in 1997, both of Oksana’s legs eventually amputated above her knees–her left leg when she was eight while her right when she was 13 as they became more painful and incapable of supporting her weight. Oksana was also undergoing surgery to alter her finger tips on her right hand to work as thumbs.
When she first arrived in America U.S., her mother was an academic in Buffalo University. Following her medal win in rowing at the 2012 Paralympics, Masters took up cross-country skiing. At the 2014 Winter Paralympics in Sochi, Russia, she won a silver medal in the 12 km Nordic and a bronze medal in the 5 km Nordic. She also placed fourth and eighth in two biathlon events. Masters sustained a back injury during this time and gave up rowing as a result. She took up cycling as part of the recovery process.
