She holds obtained a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) obtained at the Cranfield University School of Management United Kingdom. She graduated in 2007.

On her return from business school, in 2008, she founded Alternativ Managers an SME management consulting Company) that has partnered with the Ford Foundation, The Nigeria SME Agency (SMEDAN), LEAP Africa and Fate Foundation to build capacity in SMEs and stakeholders in the sector.

Modie’s career in corporate finance began in 1999 when she joined Agusto & Company Limited, Nigeria’s first credit rating company , founded by Bode Agusto. There she spent for six years as an Associate consultant, developing her expertise within the West African Mergers & Acquisition Market with a particular focus specifically on Nigerian as well as Ghanaian financial services sector (pre-consolidation period) and the Nigerian corporate financial environment.

She resigned at the end of September to be part of her new HEIRS Alliance team, a firm that manages portfolios, established by Tony Elumelu. She was the Manager of Corporate Venturing and incubation, part of the core team which managed the financial services portfolio for the Standard Trust Bank group of companies that is now the United Bank For Africa UBA group. She was the lead for projects on a variety of Mergers & Acquisitions projects across the West African region

From late 2008 to 2011, she was pulled away to help support a social impact investing initiative; Makeda Fund Managers LLC a US$50million SME private equity start-up fund focused on investing in women entrepreneurs across West Africa, and the fund was run in partnership with Small Enterprises Assistance Fund (SEAF) based in Washington, D.C. She was the Fund Director (West Africa) for the Fund. As a fund director, Modie generated interest in investing in women owned/managed SMEs across West Africa. She was responsible for fund marketing, relationship building & managing, deal sourcing and managing investor relationships
