Octavia Nasr is one of the most popular and richest Journalist who was born on March 13, 1966 in Beirut, Beirut Governorate, Lebanon. Octavia Nasr (Arabic: wktfy nSr ) (born 13 March 1966) is a journalist from the United States of Lebanese who is a journalist covering Middle Eastern affairs. She was CNN’s Senior Editor for Mideast issues for more than 20 years. She was dismissed from CNN in July of this year in response to an Twitter post about the cleric Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah.

The articles and commentary after Nasr’s dismissal were divided. Thomas Friedman was also among the many who were dismayed by the decision. One misplaced verb now and within hours you can have a digital lynch mob chasing after you–and your bosses scrambling for cover”. the editor of Mediaite Dan Abrams asked “Can you imagine what would happen to a U.S. journalist expressing admiration for an Al Qaeda leader who had other, better, attributes?” Glen Greenwald in Salon.com wrote, “That message spawned an intense fit of protest from Far Right outlets, Thought Crime enforcers, and other neocon precincts, and CNN quickly (and characteristically) capitulated to that pressure by firing her.” Greenwald wrote about Fadlallah to be “one of the Shiite world’s most beloved religious figures” and emphasized how people around the world saw Fadlallah, as did many people in the West as displayed in Time Magazine’s selection of Man of the Year 2010. In the Huffington Post, columnist Magda Abu-Fadil reported on coordinated online actions to decry Nasr’s comments and call for her removal. In an interview in 2012, Nasr noted, “Without an upfront commitment from the employer to stand by and protect employees from astroturfing and negative publicity, my advice to employees is not to use social media on behalf of their employer, period.”
