Quader was the son of Begum Fazilatunnesa (d. 2018) on January 1, 1952 at Bara Rajapur village, Companiganj Upazila, Noakhali district. He has three brothers as well as six siblings. He graduated by obtaining a 1st division in Basurhat A. H. C. Government High School and HSC from Noakhali Government College with a spot on the top tier of the merit lists. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree.
On the 5th of December, 2011, Quader was appointed Secretary of Communication. He was elected an MP the 5 Jan 2014 in Noakhali-5, the constituency that he was elected to three times, in the 10th elections to the parliamentary seat. He was elected the General Secretary of the Awami League on October of 2016 at the 20th annual council of the party.
Quader was elected an MP from the Noakhali-5 district during the parliamentary elections on June 12 in 1996. He was the State Minister for Youth, Sports, and Cultural Affairs from June 23rd 1996 until the 15th of July in 2001 and was the first joint secretary of the senior level for the Bangladesh Awami League from December 26th, 2002 until July 26 2009. He was detained on March 9th, 2007 by the caretaker government of Bangladesh and was imprisoned over 17 months, 26 days until being released in bail on September 5, 2008.

Obaidul Quader (born 1 January 1952) is an Bangladeshi political figure who’s served as the General Secretary of the Bangladesh Awami League since October 2016. He is currently the minister for Road Transport and Bridges and an MP from the Noakhali-5 constituency. He still represents Awami League in the media and is a volunteered media advisor. He was the Minister of State for Youth, Sports and Cultural Affairs between 1996 and 2001.
Quader has written nine books. Quader was active in politics throughout his time at college. The year 1966 was the first time he was an active role in the Six-Point Movement. He also participated with The Mass Upsurge and the Eleven- Point Movement in 1969. In the year 1975 Qader was sentenced to prison for two and one-half years. In prison the president was elected of the central committee of the Bangladesh Chhatra League and he continued to serve for two term. He was an assistant editor for the newspaper Daily Banglar Bani for a lengthy period of period of.
