Nugzar Bagration-Gruzinsky is one of the most popular and richest Theatre Director who was born on August 25, 1950 in Tbilisi, Georgia. The Bagration-Mukhrani line was an cadet line of the earlier Royal House of Kartli, they became the genetically senior Bagrationi family line at the beginning of the 20th century. However, the older branch was no longer under the control of Kartli until 1724. In contrast, the Bagration- Gruzinsky branch even though it was subordinate relative to the princes of Mukhrani genetically, ruled over Kakheti, the Kingdom of Kakheti and re- unified both realms within the Kartli-Kakheti kingdom in 1762. It didn’t lose its the sovereignty of the kingdom until Russian annexed it in 1801.
Prince Nugzar Petres dze Bagration-Gruzinsky (Georgian: nugzar petres z’e bagration-gruzinski ) (born 25 August 1950 located in Tbilisi, Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic) is the head of the deposed royal House of Gruzinsky and is the representative of their claim to the the crown of Georgia.
On 18 December 2007, Nugzar met with Kristiina Ojuland, the Vice-President of the Riigikogu (Parliament of Estonia) at the Marriott-Tbilisi Hotel in which Ojuland “paid homage to the Bagrationi dynasty, which has made an extraordinary contribution in support of Georgia”.

His third spouse Liya Mgeladze (b. 8 August 1926). Prince Nugzar is the director of the Tbilisi theater of film artists.
As Nugzar has no male issues, Yevgeny Petrovich Gruzinsky (born 1947) was the great-great-grandson of the smaller sister Ilia (1791-1854) who is a resident of the Russian Federation, is considered as the presumed heir to Nugzar under the primogeniture principle. Nugzar himself advocates of having his oldest child, Ana named his inheritor according to his Georgian dynastic law known as “Zedsidzeoba” according to which each child born to Ana’s mother Ana will be eligible for the dynastic succession via their mother and continue the lineage of George XII.
The dynastic significance of the wedding lay in the fact that, amidst the turmoil in political partisanship that has roiled Georgia since its independence in 1991, Patriarch Ilia II of Georgia publicly called for restoration of the monarchy as a path toward national unity in October 2007. Although this led some politicians and parties to entertain the notion of a Georgian constitutional monarchy, competition arose among the old dynasty’s princes and supporters, as historians and jurists debated which Bagrationi has the strongest hereditary right to a throne that has been vacant for two centuries. Although some Georgian monarchists support the Gruzinsky branch’s claim, others support that of the repatriated Mukhrani branch. Both branches descend in unbroken, legitimate male line from the medieval kings of Georgia down to Constantine II of Georgia who died in 1505.
