Hurt began playing football at his club Merkuur of Tartu and continued to play with his club, the Tammeka Football Academy. In 2012 the year he joined II Liiga team HUJK Emmaste. The next season, Emmaste got promoted into the newly- established Esiliiga Division B. Hurt quit Emmaste at the end of 2014 in order to continue a coaching career.
The year 2009 was the first time Tammeka was hired by Tammeka Hurt as the team’s manager during the season. In 2011, Hurt coached Flora’s reserve team Flora II. On the 20th of July, 2013, he was appointed to replace the fired Flora coach Marko Lelov as interim manager. The position was permanently made. Flora ended the 2013 season fourth and finished third in 2014.
In February 2018, he became the head coach of Estonia U16 national team.
