Its Eyebeam residency is a sought-after program for artists, researchers, and writers who work with technologists and technology in the field of arts. Khan’s writing and research at Eyebeam concentrates on the development of computer-generated poetry robots, simulations, and bots.
In November of 2016 she was joined by Christiane Paul (curator) and artist Ian Cheng at the Whitney Museum of American Art in an open discussion on criticism of digital art. In February of 2017 she was a guest speaker at the festival of media arts, Transmediale in Berlin as part of the Festival’s 30th anniversary edition. She participated on a panel entitled The Alien Middle with German artist, designer and author Sascha Pohflepp, as well as Dulling Down the Obsolescence of Intelligence with curator and theorist Inke Arns, as well as Dutch concept artist Constant Dullaart. The speaking engagements were in Berlin occurred in conjunction with the launch of the Transmediale catalogue of the exhibition, Alien Matter, to which Khan contributed an essay. In October 2016 , she joined together with the director Aria Dean and activist Grace Dunham to launch Open Score, an Open Score art and technology symposium at the New Museum.
