Noel became the captain for the very first time of the Mariners and led his squad to the first Hyundai A-League Grand Final, only a few steps away from the honor that was his first as captain take home the award. He scored the opener game of the first A-League season away from home, with Perth Glory, with a 30-yard strike from the distance into the top right part of the field.
