Nikos Karageorgiou is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on December 8, 1962 in Kavala, East Macedonia and Thrace, Greece. Nikos Karageorgiou (Greek: Nikos Karageorgiou born on in 1962, on the 8th December) is a Greek former professional footballer and manager of a football club in Greece. He is currently the director for the Greek Super League 1 club Xanthi.
In February of 2006, Karageorgiou took over management of Beta Ethniki side Ergotelis, returning the club to excellent form and winning the division championship. While with Ergotelis, Karageorgiou enjoyed complete and unwavering assistance from the board directors. He was director for Ergotelis for six consecutive years within the Greek Superleague, thus becoming one of the longest-running managers in competition history until the conclusion in the season 2011-12 in which the club was unable to stay out of being relegated.
In April 2014, Karageorgiou moved to Cyprus, taking over management of Enosis Neon Paralimni, and led the club to promotion to the Cypriot First Division, after winning the Second Division title. His contract with the club was terminated in November 2015. A month later, in December 2015 Karageorgiou was hired by Greek Superleague club AEL Kalloni. However, as the club was relegated at the end of the season, his contract was terminated on mutual consent.
Karageorgiou began his coaching journey with Skoda Xanthi during the 1999-2000 season, after which the club’s manager was appointed of the club in place of Vangelis Vlachos on Matchday 25, despite the fact that being playing regularly. The 2001-02 season was following his resignation as Agentinian director Juan Ramon Rocha, Karageorgiou was first hired as the general manager was again appointed as head coach for the club. He was able to guide Skoda Xanthi to its first ever European campaign, which ended in fifth place. The time he spent with Skoda Xanthi was eventually ended at the end of the season of 2004 when he was replaced head coach of the team by Giannis Matzourakis. On February 5, 2005, Matzourakis was named the head coach at PAOK but his contract was terminated couple of months later in September 2005.

Karageorgiou began his career in football in the local football club of his village team Aetos Eratino, before he was sent to the prestigious club of the region Kavala in the year 1981. He was a player for his home club for five years after which he was moved onto PAOK at the age of 1986 and he remained there for the next five seasons. After 1991, Karageorgiou made the move to Panathinaikos and won the Greek Cup in 1993, in his final season with the club. Then, he moved towards Skoda Xanthi, where he was a major part of his career in the club until at which point he made the decision to quit his football career and later became coach of the club.
Karageorgiou also played in 16 international matches for the Greek national team in 1989-1992.
In July 2012, Karageorgiou was appointed head coach of Panetolikos, but was replaced in mid-season. In April 2013 he took over management of Skoda Xanthi for the third time in his career, but was fired in September 2013. Karageorgiou was subsequently hired by fellow Superleague side Levadiakos, but his contract was once again terminated prematurely, in February 2014.
