In the year 2011, Kuga signed with Cucuta Norte the professional basketball team that is based within Cucuta, Colombia. Kuga became one of the few Serbian and the first basketball player of Eastern Europe to play in the Colombian league (LNB – Colombia). Over the course of 24 league matches, Kuga scored 15.3 scores, 5.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.
During 2016-2017, Kuga played for Portuguese team BC Alfenense. Currently Kuga is member of Norvegian basketball team Ammerud Basket
In January 2016, Kuga signed a contract with Lebanese team Al Moutahed for the rest of the following season.

Nikola was born in the famous basketball academy of FMP Belgrade, he played for the junior teams of FMP from 2005 until 2007. The 2007-08 season was when the team he was with was KK Srem.
