Nigel Hasselbaink (born 21 November 1990) is a professional soccer player who is a player for the Israeli team Hapoel Be’er Sheva as a forward.
On June 28, 2012, Hasselbaink signed with St Johnstone. Following his move from St Johnstone, Hasselbaink says that he took the right decision to join St Johnstone and revealed that manager Steve Lomas convinced him that he made the right choice for his future. Hasselbaink disclosed that he received offers from numerous English clubs. Hasselbaink was praised by the manager Steve Lomas, and he has formed a strong team together with Gregory Tade. In his first season with St Johnstone, Hasselbaink scored seven goals over forty-two games throughout the season, which included the 2-0 victory against Motherwell to secure St Johnstone a place for Europa League next season.
However, in 2013–14 season, Hasselbaink partnership with Tade came to an end after Tade left for Romania. Hasselbaink then scored his first goal of the season, in a 4–0 win over Ross County on 11 August 2013. Hasselbaink went on to score four more goals this season and made thirty-nine appearance in all competitions. Hasselbaink was released by the club at the end of the 2013–14 season. His release came when Hasslebaink was an un-used substitute for the Scottish Cup Final, which St Johnstone won 2–0 against Dundee United to win the club’s first Scottish Cup in their first final appearance.
On 31 July 2014 he signed for Greek club Veria. However, making one appearance, Hasselbaink was released by the club on 2 February 2015.
On June 6, 2011, Hasselbaink made the move into St Mirren, signing a one-year contract Paul McGowan. Hasselbaink began his first game with the club in an 0-0 draw against Dunfermline Athletic on 25 July 2011 when he played for 90 minutes. Hasselbaink made his debut goal in league in the league on the 30th of July 2011 in a game against Aberdeen that was the only goal of the match. The 6th August 2011 Hasselbaink was a contributing player for Steven Thompson but received a straight red card for unsportsmanlike behavior towards Paul Dixon in a 1-1 draw against Dundee United. Following receiving the red, the club filed an appeal for his dismissal but was unsuccessful, making him one of the very first players to undergo the new, streamlined disciplinary procedure.

The Dutchman was born in Amsterdam, Hasselbaink began his career with PSV and, in 2007, Hasselbaink had signed his very first contract as a professional with PSV. He was not able to make an appearance as a senior player with the team, and rather made his debut for the club in the second quarter of the 2009-10 season being on loan with Go Ahead Eagles in the Eerste Divisie. After his stint on loan for Go Ahead Eagles, Hasselbaink was dismissed from the team.
On the 23rd of August, 2010 Hasselbaink joined Hamilton Academical on a free transfer following his deportation by PSV having impressed his manager Billy Reid while on trial. Hasselbaink made his debut with Hamilton as a player in Hamilton’s Scottish Premier League four days following, winning 1-1 win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
In May 2012, Hasselbaink turned down an improved contract from St Mirren and left the club with clubs from England and Scotland chasing to sign him.
