In Brescia, Lombardy, Piras began his career with F.C. Internazionale Milano. In 2003-04 season , he was a member of Giovanissimi Regionali’s B team under 13. In 2007-08 season , he was a part of the Allievi Nazionali under-17 team. He scored four goals during the second half of the season. He was transferred to Chievo on January 30, 2008. (around round 16 from 26 games). It was his 8th top goalscorer for Inter U-17 (ranked lowest among forwards) and was a distant second behind Luca Tremolada, Sulaiman Sesay Fullah, Simone Dell’Agnello (permanently borrowed from Allievi Regionali), Davide Santon (winger), Diego Falcinelli, Mattia Destro (also lend to Primavera) and Renato Ricci (winger). Piras was a part-time player for two seasons at Chievo and the other portion of the time playing in the Primavera youth team. Piras was only able to play 10 times during the 2008-09 season.
