Nick Mamatas (Greek : Nikos Mammatas) was born February 20, 1972. He is an American horror, fantasy and science fiction author. He also edits Haikasoru’s series of translated Japanese science fiction novels. His fiction has been nominated to a variety of awards, including many Bram Stoker Awards. His editorial work has been recognized with a Bram Stoker Award as well as nominations for the World Fantasy Award (and Hugo Award). His early writing career was funded by college students producing term papers. This experience gained him notoriety in an essay published in Drexel University’s online magazine The Smart Set.
