He was a member of the KBO League for Lotte Giants, and the Chinese Professional Baseball League(CPBL) for Chinatrust Brothers.
Additon signed a minor-league deal with the Colorado Rockies on August 6, 2017. On November 7, 2017, he elected free agency.
Additon retired as an active player following the 2019 season and later was hired as an international scout for the Chinatrust Brothers.
After the 2013 season, he was let go by the Cardinals and signed by the Baltimore Orioles. He was a member of their system in 2014 and 2015, and also in 2016 when he played for the Milwaukee Brewers. For 2017, he joined the Lotte Giants. He had previously spent parts of six seasons in Triple-A. He was 28-41 and had a 4.41 ERA over 559.2 innings.

Before he played professionally, he attended Western High School and Indian River State College in Davie. He was then drafted by St. Louis Cardinals in 47th round of 2006 Major League Baseball Draft. The next year, he began his professional career.
In his three first seasons, he posted ERAs 3.41, 2.23, and 3.11 respectively. He was 9-5 in 2008 with a 2.50 ERA with the Quad Cities River Bandits, and 2-0 with a 0.50 ERA with the Palm Beach Cardinals. In 2010, he was 9-6 and had a 4.43 record with the Springfield Cardinals. He was also 8-9 between Springfield, Memphis and Cincinnati in 2011. In 2012, he pitched for Memphis and the GCL Cardinals. In 2013, he was 9-7 and had a 4.10 ERA in Memphis.
On January 17, 2018, Additon signed with the Chinatrust Brothers of the Chinese Professional Baseball League. On June 9, 2018, Additon threw a no- hitter against the Uni-President Lions, becoming the eighth player in the 29-year history of the CPBL to accomplish such a feat. In December 2018, Additon re-signed with the Brothers for the 2019 season. However, following a start on July 9, 2019, in which he injured his shoulder, he was released by the Brothers the next day.
