Gao Hongbo is one of the most popular and richest Football Coach who was born on January 25, 1966 in Beijing, China. Gao Hongbo (Chinese: Gao Hong Bo Pinyin: Gao Hongbo ; born on January 25, 1966, from Beijing) is former Chinese football player and head coach of the China League One side Beijing Enterprises. He was the manager of the China national team of football from 2009 to 2011 and then in the year 2016 he was appointed head coach. In the month of May in 2009 Gao was the youngest man to lead the team in over 30 years.

Xu Genbao would appoint Gao Hongbo as his assistant coach for players when he hired him during his 1997 season as a league coach prior to when leaving the team to become the coach of champions from the previous season, Dalian Wanda. In the following season, he was replace by Edson Tavares, and Gao remains as his assistant. However, Aristeu Tavares left Guangzhou Songri at the conclusion year 1998’s league campaign. Gao Hongbo continued to take his place as head coach of the team in the early part in the league’s 1999 season, at 33 years old. Gao would however get into problems with his players. He quit the team after just 11 games despite a promising beginning to the season. Gao would travel to learn about coaching. He was a student at numerous club that were located in London and Southampton as well as his former player Yang Chen invited him to go to Germany too.

After the game, Gao Hongbo resigned from the national post and returned to help Xu Genbao in coaching Shanghai Zhongyuan. This duo again won the promotion to Jia A and left the club together in 2002.

After being named the best scoring player in the Singapore’s FAS Premier League with Tiong Bahru in 1994, Gao Hongbo would return to the newly-formed full-time professionally-run Beijing Guoan club and would immediately be a success with his 21 goals over the next two seasons. Following his win in the Chinese FA Cup in 1996 He left Beijing Guoan and would join Guangzhou Songri in the second level, where he would join with his coach Xu Genbao and help the club achieve promotion to the top league in 1997. He was also the top scorer in the league and scored 18 goals. He was offered an assistant coach job for the club prior to the league season of 1998, the player would officially end his playing after the season ended.

Born into the Hui household in Beijing, Gao was discovered and was coached by Xu Genbao in the Beijing sports academy. An accomplished youngster, He would eventually become a member of in the Beijing Youth Football Team in 1981. It was the final game he played before his retirement.

On April 16, 2009, Gao signed a contract as Head Coach from the China national football team. Serbian Vladimir Petrovic was the last full-time coach but his contract was not renewed after China was eliminated from the qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Gao is the first Chinese national team coach that was chosen through an open selection procedure, which included four other candidates: Wu Jingui (former Shanghai Shenghua coach), Yin Tiesheng (previous temporary caretaker manager) and Shen Xiangfu (under-23 team coach). His arrival saw China opting for a new strategy, turning towards ground passing tactics and adopting the 4–2–3–1 formation. It was noted that Chinese footballers had relied too heavily on the long balls and header strategy for almost a decade.
