She was born in Vryburg, and grew up in Mafikeng, North West Province. As a child growing up during apartheid, she saw the negative portrayals of black South Africans as well as the inability of black women to participate in a media industry dominated predominantly by white men. This re- energized her desire to change the world, but it was difficult to realize because of the restrictions on race. Ntsoma was a student at St Mary’s High School, where she was introduced to dance, music and drama. This is where she realized her career path was not like her peers.
