Nelson Cupello is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on August 28, 1951 in Brazil, United States. Monroe Community College was where Nelson started his college soccer career. In 1973, he transferred to SUNY Brockport and played two seasons for Brockport. The school won the Division III NCAA Championship in 1974. In 1974, Cupello was awarded third-team All-American recognition and he graduated in 1975. Cupello was inducted into the SUNY Brockport Hall of Fame and the NJCAA Soccer Hall of Fame, both in 1993 and 2002.
Cupello led the Tribunes’ to an 18-1-1 record in 2012 and third place at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament. Cupello was named NSCAA National Coaches of the Year on January 18, 2013.
In 2003, he was appointed Director of Coaching for the Rochester Futbol Club. It was founded by Charlie Williams and Cupello in 1997.

Cupello was drafted by the North American Soccer League’s Rochester Lancers in 1975. Cupello played five more seasons for the Lancers. At the close of the 1980 season, the Lancers were disbanded. Cupello joined the American Soccer League’s expansion Rochester Flash in 1981. In 1983, Cupello retired from professional soccer.
Cupello started coaching in 1978 as an assistant coach for the Monroe Community College men’s soccer team. He held this position until 1984, when he retired from professional soccer and shifted full-time to coaching. Cupello was hired by SUNY Fredonia in 1985 as their head coach. He led Fredonia’s team to the NCAA tournament four more times during his five seasons. The team lost twice in the semifinals. He returned to Monroe in 1990 as the school’s coach. He has been named the Region III Coach and Northeast District Coach of The Year 12 times and 3 times respectively. His accomplishments include taking the Tribunes to the Regional title in 2005, 2002, 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2012. His overall record at MCC is currently at 303-101-27.
