Neil Lomax is one of the most popular and richest American football quarterback who was born on February 17, 1959 in Portland, Oregon, United States. Neil Vincent Lomax, born February 17, 1959, is an American football quarterback who spent his entire career with the St. Louis/Phoenix Cardinals.

Lomax was the starting quarterback for every game in 1984. He threw for 4,614 yards and 28 touchdowns and had 16 interceptions with a 61.6% completion rate, all career records. His passing yards rank 20th in all-time history for a single season. He was also named to the Pro Bowl in that year. The Cardinals ended up finishing 9-7. However, due to the record against the New York Giants (and Dallas Cowboys), St. Louis was unable to make the playoffs. Lomax was again the starter in every game in 1985. However, the team finished 5-11. He threw for 18 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, 3,214 yards, and a 56.3% completion rate. Lomax was the starting quarterback for 14 of 1986’s games, while Cliff Stoudt took over the two other. The former went 4-9-1 to beat the latter’s 0-2 record. On a 57.0% completion rate, he threw for 2,583 yards and had 13 touchdowns as well as 12 interceptions. Lomax’s final season as a Cardinal was also his penultimate. Lomax started 12 games with Shawn Halloran, who started two games and went 1-1) as well as Sammy Garza, who started one game but lost it. Lomax was then hired as the quarterbacks coach for Tualatin High School in Tualatin Oregon. On March 21, 2018, Lomax was announced as the new head football coach at Fort Vancouver high school in Vancouver, Washington.

Lomax was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals as the fifth pick in the second round 1981 NFL Draft. Despite his college achievements, Lomax had a nine-year career with some very poor Cardinals teams. He displayed brilliance in two Pro Bowl years (1984-1987), but sometimes played poorly enough to be benched.

Lomax was a standout college football player at Portland State University.
